Domestic violence: It’s impact on the school

Abstract

In order to deepen the study of domestic violence and its impact on the school for better understanding and confrontation, a descriptive study in done about the results obtained by applying a survey "What I do not like in my family", 147 students were interviewed at the Medical faculty Dr. "José Rafael García Moreaux” guantánamo during September 2007 to March 2008. The types of domestic violence are classified and grouped by order of frequency. Also the prevalence of domestic violence is calculated and the possible relationship of violence with alcohol consumption is explored. As a result, the domestic violence is a problem that affects school and is closely linked with the consumption of alcohol.
