Cumulative academic efficiency of the first Cohort of students from the Faculty of Medicine of Huambo, Angola

Abstract

A descriptive study was conducted in the area of undergraduate; to determine the cumulative academic efficiency of the first cohort of students from the Faculty of Medicine of Huambo as a data source are reported and used to promote academic years of the first cohort of courses 2009 to 2013, issued by the Department of Pedagogical Secretariat of the faculty. The cumulative academic efficiency, remained at 98.57 % in the first 2 academic years, declining to 95.49 % courses 2011 and 2012 and, show a percentage of 89.43 % in 2013. The cumulative academic efficiency decreases progressively from primary school through clinical cycle is lower during 2013, when students are in the 5th year of the race. It is recommended to extend the study to all cohorts, which also allows to make analysis of vertical academic efficiency by courses, as well as indicators that influence in it.
