Clinical evaluation in Primary Health Care of the patient with headache

Headache is a common in consultation. Describing the clinical utility method for patient with headache in primary health care and contextualize the benchmarks to secondary care is the goal of this work. To carry out this research a literature review was conducted on the basis of COCHARNE, PUMED and MEDLINE from 2005 to 2014. Starting form, is described, age of onset, duration, clinical course, frequency of episodes, duration of the painful episode, character, location of pain, the circumstances that trigger, relieve or change the pain, associated symptoms and findings on physical examination. The correct use of the clinical method is the fundamental tool in the diagnostic approach to the patient with headache. Warning signs determine the need for urgent attention to the secondary level and neuro studies indicate reference image. Patients are difficult to diagnose or poorly controlled despite appropriate treatment they should be referred to secondary care.
