Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility Policy
Revista Información Científica is committed to communicating excellence in Health Sciences by actively promoting Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) in all its processes, in response to the SciELO Network's Declaration of Support for Open Science with IDEIA and the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the United Nations; specifically: Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3), Quality Education (SDG 4), Gender Equality (SDG 5), and Reduction of Inequalities (SDG 10).
Diversity
Our journal is founded on the principle that knowledge is enriched by diversity. We encourage the participation of readers, authors, the Editorial Board, and reviewers with different backgrounds, nationalities, genders, sexual orientations, ethnicities, cultures, disabilities, scientific disciplines, and academic trajectories. We strive to provide space for authors from developing countries and to include research on underrepresented populations.
Equity
We are committed to providing a fair and bias-free editorial process; free access to RIC content, publication of accepted contributions, and equal support and assistance. We have established rigorous protocols and evaluation mechanisms to ensure that everyone has equal opportunities to contribute and be recognized in our journal, without discrimination based on gender, ethnicity, religion, age, disability, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, or other personal characteristics.
Inclusion
We foster an environment where everyone feels heard, respected, and valued. This includes recognizing diverse methodologies and cultural perspectives, as well as promoting the use of inclusive language in articles and scientific communications, and ensuring that our editorial framework is responsive and nurturing.
Accessibility
We recognize that information only generates knowledge when it is accessible. Therefore, we are committed to the principle of universal dissemination, maintaining all our content in Open Access and ensuring, to the extent technically possible, that it is fully usable by people with disabilities. This involves designing and implementing processes that allow for the equitable participation of people with specific needs and adhering to accessibility standards on our open-source Open Journal Systems platform.
