Educational intervention on periodontal health in workers of the Medical Sciences Filial Guantánamo

Abstract

An educational intervention was carried out on workers at the "Rafael García Moreaux" Medical Sciences Branch of Guantánamo, with the aim of improving the periodontal health status from January to July 2012. For a prospective cross-sectional and descriptive study .It were randomly chosen 72 workers age between 19 and 59 years. Periodontal health status was evaluated using the Periodontal Treatment Need Index in the Community, before and after the intervention. The degree of satisfaction of the patients was collected. The result was increase in the level of knowledge, an improvement in periodontal health and in the level of population satisfaction.
