Evaluation of the Information Literacy Program in Guantánamo Province

Abstract

A descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out to assess the impact of the Information Literacy Program in Guantanamo, province, from January to December 2012. The 32 libraries working the program in the 10 Municipalities of the province. In order to evaluate the program, several actions were carried out: applying questionnaire, group dynamics in each of the libraries, evaluation of the facilitator workshops, as well as a rating design on a scale of 1-5. It was identified as strength that there is cohesion of the technical group, staff trained in the network and most of the workers are licensed; As weaknesses the insufficient number of computers for the technical work, instability of the access and little capacity of the bandwidth to streamline the processes.
