Abstract

An educational intervention was carried out with the objective of modifying knowledge about facolith glaucoma in family doctors of the integral diagnosis center "Pablo Salcedo", Páez Municipality, Portuguese state, from January to June of 2009. The universe is constituted by 18 family physicians that perform active research and attend patients with ocular pathologies in their health area. The variables were the following: age and sex of the doctors, level of knowledge about: symptoms and signs of the disease, means of diagnosis and treatment. There was a predominance of male physicians and the age group between 30-34 years. Satisfactory results are achieved after the intervention.
