Abstract

A prospective study of educational intervention is done in kindergarten at schools “Catalina Valderrama " and "24 de febrero" on ASIC "Federico Quiroz", Venezuela, from February to July 2011, with the aim of changing the level of  knowledge of parents and teachers of these institutions. The universe is compound by 48 parents of students and teachers. Variables were studied: sex, age, educational level, occupation, level of knowledge and behavior of this entity. An insufficient level of knowledge was found, which had an impact on the prevalence of diarrheal diseases in the community. It was designed and implemented an educational program in meetings with different participatory techniques used to facilitate the acquisition of knowledge, achieving an increase of over 90%, so it was suggested to extend it to other areas of health.
