Abstract

Currently blood donors are voluntary and altruistic; however there is no mechanism in the Blood Bank of Baracoa, Guantanamo province, to ensure that donations of blood are systematically performed. This work aims to undertake an educational-instructive intervention on blood donations, through some students of the profile of clinical bioanalysis, in the community of Jobo dulce, to achieve the promotion of blood donations and recruitment of young donors volunteers. A collaborative didactic material and the training of students in aspects related to blood donations are made. An educational-instructive talk is conducted, aimed at the youth of this community, where it is possible to increase the number of blood donations and to maintain the systematic attendance of these young people to the blood bank, which guarantees this product and the necessary components for inpatients and the raw material for the pharmaceutical industry.
