Educational strategy on abortion in adolescents

Abstract

An intervention study was carried out to apply an educational strategy on abortion in adolescents of the University Polyclinic "Asdrúbal López Vázquez" in the period January 2010 - January 2011. The universe is of 52 adolescents of a clinic and the sample is 25 adolescents female Variables such as: sex,age of first sexual intercourse and first abortion, knowledge of adolescents about abortion, complications and risks are used. The information is obtained from a form applied before and after the educational diagnosis, with prior informed consent. The age of the first sexual intercourse and first abortion that predominated most was 17 years. After the educational intervention, more than 90% were able to acquire knowledge about abortion, its complications, risks and conduct to avoid it.
