Abstract

A study was carried out in 64 patients with abdominal deformity diagnosis, with the objective of evaluating the behavior of abdominal liposuction in the Plastic Surgery Service, General Teaching Hospital "Dr. Agostinho Neto” Guantanamo, from January 2007 to December 2010. Variables such as: age, sex, diagnosis of abdominal deformity, types of liposuction, clinical signs, postoperative complications and aesthetic results are taken into account. The majority of patients who request this procedure are between 25 and 34 years of age, predominantly female, with a light abdominal deformity in the majority, who resolved with simple liposuction; Followed by the moderate one, who underwent liposuction with partial suprapubic minilipectomy. The postoperative clinical signs that are most evident at 15 days of evolution were: fibrosis, edema and ecchymosis, which then disappeared. The final aesthetic result of the procedure is evaluated as good.
