Abstract

A qualitative cross-sectional study was carried out with the objective of evaluating the informational competences of the "Hermanos Martínez Tamayo" Policlinic of Baracoa from February 1, 2008 to May 25, 2009. The Universe and sample are made up of 40 professionals. There are three groups of 13 and 14 members each. At the beginning of the research, the health professionals of this institution were not aware of the information services available at Infomed, such as VHL and bibliographic databases, at the end of the study, knowledge for localization, access and utilization Of the information, understanding in turn that Google is not a database, but an unreliable site for the search of scientific information. Conclusions and recommendations are issued.
