The biopsy of the transrectal prostate allows a diagnostic yield of 31.2%, the second biopsies with a 12 cylinder scheme achieves a return of 20%. The sample taken for prostate biopsy following the Stamey scheme approaches the diagnostic profitability of the 12-cylinder collection, the latter being more effective.
