Abstract

A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted to determine the level of knowledge about dental trauma in students ESBU "Eduardo Ortega Rodriguez" Hector Infante, municipality Manuel Tames, December 2014 to May 2015. The studied universe was 86 students. Primary data were collected through a survey prepared for these purposes. The variables analyzed were: age group, sex, knowledge about risk factors, prevention, action to take before a dental trauma and level of knowledge about dental trauma. Primary data collected with a database was created. Summary information was presented through tables of data association, using as a summary measure absolute frequency (No.) and percentage (%). Concluding that is inadequate level of knowledge about dental trauma in students. It is recommended to implement a training program to students, educators and parents with a view to favor and modify the knowledge on this subject.
