Abstract

The case of a 22-year-old patient who presented a defect at the alveolus-palate level was described, with a history of performing a surgical technique for reconstruction with autologous bone graft at 8 years of age that altered her physiognomy and anatomy. It was decided to use biomaterials and correct said defect through a procedure, under local anesthesia, of medium complexity. A procedure was performed without complications, patient with early evolution and evidence of integration of biomaterials at the level of the right alveolar fissure and loss of flaps at the level of the hard palate in the left fissure, slight inflammation and subsequent failure. Once the technique was developed, it was concluded that the failure was caused by defects in the sequelae tissue used to close the fissures and probably by the period between procedures, as demonstrated in other studies. It is shown that the use of biomaterials becomes a novel alternative for alveolar palate cleft corrections.
