Educational intervention on management of patients with phenylketonuria

Abstract

A study with the objective of developing a proposal for capacitating intervention to improve the competence of physicians who care for patients with phenylketonuria on integrated management of them in primary health care, at the Pediatric Hospital "Pedro Agustín Pérez" is performed. The universe of study consists of 57 medical graduates and 3 in professional practice. The variables are used as scientific category, level of knowledge, behavior of the most significant scientific criteria by category. For the implementation of research procedures such as document, review of the key statistics and analysis on the knowledge of the integrated management of phenylketonuric patient, for which a data sheet was designed by emptying the authors collected the necessary information, an instrument is used to measure the competence of the physicians on the subject of study. Little knowledge of the comprehensive management of patients with phenylketonuria was demonstrated.
