Abstract

Cervical dysplasia is an abnormal growth of epithelial cells of the cervix. In order to determine predisposing factors, a study was performed in 214 women treated in the Cervical Pathology consultation at the General Teaching Hospital "Dr.Agostinho Neto"in 2010.variables are the following: age, first sex, sexually transmitted infections, type of dysplasia and correlation histocytological and diagnosis. Data are collected in voiding record; the percentage is used as a summary measure of qualitative variables. Mild dysplasia was the most common, most affected were women between 35 and 59, and initiated sexual intercourse before age 20. The infection was most identified as sexually transmitted Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) and correlation histocytological and diagnosis was significant.
