Abstract

A study was done in order to describe the clinical and epidemiological behavior of suicide attempt in the town ofPalmar, from January 2012 to January 2013. The universe of study is composed of 13 adolescents diagnosed with suicide attempt that met the criteria for research. Data were obtained through medical records, individual interview and survey, emptying into a form of harvesting, processed and finally materializing in doble table entry with the use of absolute numbers and percentages as summary measure. Education, origin, civil state, risk factors, status and stressors: variables as were used. It was obtained as a result: adolescents with rural origin, pre-university school level, both married and single, with risk factors such as proper environmental stressors, including poor living conditions and distance from home relate.
