Authorship Criteria
Authorship must be based on the ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors) criteria: "substantial contribution to the conception or design of the work; execution, analysis, or interpretation of data; drafting or critical review of the manuscript; and final approval of the published version."
The list of authors and their sequential order must appropriately reflect the scientific or professional contributions of the researchers involved. Both authors must agree both on the submitted manuscript and on the completion of the metadata on the platform. For this purpose, it is recommended that each author declare their specific contributions using the CRediT taxonomy, including only those who meet the aforementioned criteria.
Contributions made by some individuals to the work that do not justify their appearance as authors (support from departmental leadership, recognition for technical assistance, funding, or support materials, among others) may be acknowledged in the Acknowledgments section. When deemed necessary, the following will be cited: individuals (who must give permission to be named), centers, or entities that collaborated or supported the work. "Ghost authors" and "courtesy authors" are prohibited.
The content of the articles is solely the responsibility of their authors and does not necessarily reflect the views of the Editorial Board, the Centro Provincial de Información de Ciencias Médicas, or the Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Guantánamo.
Any addition, reordering, or deletion to the list of authors must be made prior to acceptance of the article and always with the prior authorization of the Director. The reason for the modification must be stated and a written communication signed by all authors certifying that they all agree with the modification must be sent. Once the article is published, additions, deletions, or modifications to the order of authors are not acceptable.
