Abstract

A study was carried out with the objective of evaluating the behavior of some clinical-epidemiological variables in obese patients of Jurado Family Physician's Office No. 23, belonging to the "Hermanos Martínez Tamayo" University Polyclinic, Baracoa, from October to December 2012. The type of obesity, the diet and the practice of physical exercises were investigated. An anonymous survey is used on 126 obese patients. It is significant that patients had mostly grade III obesity according to body mass index. There are patients with inadequate diets that favor the appearance of obesity and, at the same time, it is verified that all are sedentary, being these elements risk factors to develop obesity.
