Abstract

Introduction: Attention deficit disorders are manifested, usually with different behaviors: aggressiveness, impulsivity, disobedience, restlessness, lack of concentration sometimes underachievement, among others. All of them can be grouped together in the so-called attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), which can coexist with other related entities. Objective: To demonstrate the effectiveness of multimodal treatment in the clinical behavior of students with ADHD. Method: A cross-sectional study was carried out to investigate ADHD in the "Fructuoso Rodríguez" Elementary School in the first, second and third grades, with the prior informed consent of parents or guardians, teachers and student knowledge, during the period from September 2008 to June 2010. Results: The treatment was personalized, taking into account the patient's clinic and staff characteristics in the community action, which received courses and workshops. The neurobiological manifestations were analyzed in all the patients of the sample, analyzing their evolution for a period of two years. Conclusions: With the multimodal treatment a good evolution was achieved, a predominance of evolutionary pathological antecedents, inconsistency in the family management and a high percentage of parents with the same disorder.
