Abstract

A study was carried out to characterize conjugal violence in the "Mártires del 4 de Agosto" Polyclinic, Guantanamo, in the period May - June 2013. The sample is made up of 97 women age 15 years and older, previously identified as raped women by their partners. The women were characterized according to the following variables: family type according to their structure, family functioning and the effects caused by violence. Most of the raped women belonged to medium, large and dysfunctional families; Sadness, rejection of the couple and grief were the most observed effects. Comparisons were done and conclusions reached.
