Level of knowledge on oral health in schoolchildren of the "Rafael Orejón Formen" Urban Basic High School

Abstract

A cross - sectional descriptive study was carried out to determine the level of knowledge about oral health among schoolchildren from the "Rafael Orejón Formen" High School in Guantanamo province. The universe is made up of all the students enrolled in the school who were given a questionnaire of 20 questions to collect the information. From the analysis of the qualitative variables it was obtained that from a universe of 1088 students 1057 students were surveyed, predominantly male, the group of students was at the age of 14 years. Only 202 schoolchildren had adequate knowledge and 855 schoolchildren had inadequate knowledge. The way most schoolchildren reported receiving information was the media.
