Abstract

A cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out in patients who attended the Ortodoncia consultation of the "Julio Antonio Mella" Clinic during the whole year 2012; with the objective of evaluating the application of Stripping or interdental weathering in patients with bone-negative tooth discrepancy. The following variables are used: age, sex, bone-tooth discrepancy, time of treatment, effectiveness of therapy. The primary data were obtained from the clinical history and the questioning of parents and patients. A universe of 15 patients who attended the consultation of Orthodontics clinic. Of the total number of patients detected, the most affected age group was 12 to 18 years old, with a predominance of females. The effectiveness of the therapy was demonstrated since good results were obtained in a shorter time, obtaining good satisfaction on the part of the patients to the treatment.
