Abstract

A study was carried out on 120 future mothers attended in room 3A of General Teaching Hospital "Dr. Agostinho Neto "from Guantánamo, in the period January-December 2011, with the aim of deepening the psychoprophylaxis as an element that influences the proper preparation to present to the final stage of pregnancy and childbirth. Survey is applied. Variables were studied such as: frequency of non-practice of breathing exercises and muscle relaxation, non-effective preparation, which appears in higher percentage in mothers under 29, university level and unwanted pregnancies. Student mothers and family members who are actively involved in psychoprophylaxis showed a higher level of preparation for each childbirth event.
