Abstract

A case of baby 4 months of age, urban origin is presented, with preterm and normal weight history presenting five previous admissions presenting four episodes of respiratory difficulty. In this occasion the patient was admitted to the intensive care service at the Pediatric Teaching Hospital “Pedro Agustín Pérez” Guantánamo during May, 2012 with serious problems, such as: respiratory light difficulty, cough, groans sometimes, fever and diagnosis of dilated myocardiopathy. Studies are done as humorales, gasometrics, radiological; the diagnosis being confirmed by ECHO Doppler, L carnitina receiving treatment with oxygen therapy, bronchodilators, and digital and once stabilized the patient it was moved to the center of reference of cardiology.
