Some epidemiological variables in glaucoma patients

Abstract

A study in 120 patients diagnosed with chronic simple glaucoma is done, in the consultation at the Ophthalmology office, policlinic Hermanos Martinez Tamayo, Baracoa, from January to June 2009. It was performed refraction, color vision test, intraocular pressure and visual field to the patients. Male gender and the age group 75-79 years were the most affected. There was a predominance of normal intraocular pressure, defective color vision blue-yellow axis and Bjerrum scotoma and visual field impairment.
