Abstract

A descriptive and observational study was done, with the aim of characterizing the behavior of intestinal parasites on children of 1-6 years old in Curacao, Portuguesa State, Venezuela, from January to August 2011. The universe is made up of 52 children of age, with the mentioned disease diagnosis. It takes into account the inclusion and exclusion criteria, ethical and variables such as: mothers’ education, personal hygiene, drinking water quality and hygiene of housing. The primary data is collected through a survey of mothers, medical record review, and observation of the epidemiological factors. Mothers were identified in the prevalence of unfinished primary school, and were evident in the majority of children with inadequate epidemiological factors. It was shown that factors found in the appearance of the disease were decisive for the research.
