The mastery of the clinical method as a specific professional competence of the specialist in General Intensive Stomatology

Abstract

The work is based on the inadequacies in the application of the clinical method by residents of the specialty of General Intensive Stomatology during the state examination at the University of Medical Sciences of Guantanamo from September 2010 to October 2011. The importance and validity of the clinical method as a scientific method of the medical sciences in the face of changes in the health situation and population demographics in the world, and particularly in Cuba. It is assumed the need of teaching the clinical method as a specific professional competence in the training process of the specialist in Comprehensive General Stomatology according to its context of predominant action, Primary Health Care.
