Abstract

Health is a complex qualitative process that defines the integral functioning of man, linking systemically somatic, psychological and social, forming a unit, where the affectation of one necessarily acts on the other. The arterial hypertension, within the chronic diseases is the one of more important repercussion in the personal, economic and sanitary order and many factors that can influence negatively in the evolution of this disease. A theoretical study is carried out with the aim of making a material that constitutes a reference for professionals and students of the medical sciences to deepen in this subject, taking into account the current and validity of the same.
