Abstract

An analytical prevalence study was carried out to determine the current prevalence of intestinal parasitic infections in children's circles in Guantanamo municipality in the January-June 2011. The study universe is composed of 3,652 infants, a sample of 248 children by multistage stratified samples. The variables were studied: age, sex, etiological agent, type of parasite, lifestyle, weight and height. It is concluded that the high prevalence of intestinal parasitism in the investigated children is related to the cognitive limitations of parents and guardians on risk factors and the use of unsuitable lifestyle and lifestyle, if the study was modified, would help to reverse these results. Weight is not a factor to consider, however it was found that size was affected in parasites.
