Abstract

A descriptive and cross-sectional observational study was carried out to characterize the gender differences in health in the northern area, Guantanamo municipality, in 2011. Sociodemographic variables, productive and reproductive roles were studied. A survey is applied to both simultaneous and individual marriages in 14 clinics of the "Emilio Daudinot" Polyclinic, selected by simple random sampling 21 marriages 4 clinics respectively. Data is processed in SPSS version 9.0, presented in association data tables, using as a summary measures the number and percentage. It is obtained that the majority of the people of both sexes the ages oscillate between 25-44 years, predominate the females in the execution of domestic tasks, the men predominate in greater economic contribution and wage income. There was inequality of gender unfavorable to the female sex.
