Abstract

A descriptive study was carried out, including all Tuberculosis cases diagnosed in the "Emilio Daudinot Bueno" Polyclinic from January first, 2000 to December 3first, 2011 in order to specify some clinical epidemiological aspects of interest. The variables were studied: sex, age, associated risk factors, symptoms and signs of the disease, clinical forms of presentation and place of diagnosis. The most affected age groups are 25-34 years and 45-54 years, as well as the male. Overcrowding predominates as a risk factor as well as cough and expectoration between the symptoms and signs of the disease. There are more cases with pulmonary tuberculosis and the highest number of cases was reported in the hospital in both basic working groups (GBT), which is a negative indicator of the disease prevention and control program.
