Abstract

A historical review of the scientific societies is made, particularizing the most outstanding aspects of the development of science in Cuba in the different stages: colonial, neocolonial and revolutionary. The main aspects of medical associations are developed from the outset, as well as the laws and resolutions that led to the constitution of the National Council of Scientific Societies of Health, mentioning all the societies that exist today, which have chapters in Guantanamo, challenges and perspectives, the insertion of values in the formation of the new generations of professionals and health workers and some relevant scientific results obtained.
