Abstract

A study was carried out in alcoholics patients of the Provincial Psychiatric Hospital "Luis Ramirez López" of Guantanamo, determing the behavior of some biological markers, during 2011. The universe of study is formed by all the alcoholic patients who entered this Hospital, of them a non-probabilistic sample is selected at the convenience of 60 patients who entered this center during the period studied. The variables were studied: age, sex, serum glutamic-pyruvic transaminase (TGP), serum glutamic-oxalacetic transaminase (IGT), hemoglobin, glycemia and bilirubin levels. Male patients predominated and the age group was 45-54 years old. In laboratory tests the highest percentage of patients had results with values within normal limits.
