Abstract

A study on the prevalence of affections in patients admitted to the Orthopedics and Traumatology Service at The General Teaching Hospital "Dr. Agostinho Neto "in the province of Guantanamo from January 1 to December 31, 2010, in order to know the most prevalent diseases. The highest percentage of hospitalized patients presented hip fracture, more frequent in the right side, female sex and predominance of extracapsular, reason why a small analysis of this disease is realized. Variables are studied: prevalence of affections, conditions with lower incidence, extra capsular and intracapsular fracture of hip and distribution by age. Conclusions, recommendations are issued and graphs are annexed showing an adequate statistical view of the subject studied.
