Educational intervention in family doctors on simple chronic glaucoma

Abstract

An educational intervention study was carried out with the aim of modifying knowledge about simple chronic glaucoma in the physicians of the "Hermanos Martínez Tamayo" Polyclinic family, Baracoa, in the period January-December 2009. The universe is constituted by 20 physicians of family that attend glaucomatous patients in their health area. A questionnaire is used to explore the knowledge about: concept of disease, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment, as well as satisfaction after the training program. It is possible to modify the knowledge once the intervention is applied with optimal results.
