Abstract

A descriptive, longitudinal, and retrospective study was performed in patients with epidemic peripheral polyneuropathy (PEP); which are rehabilitated by the method of pharmacopuncture in the Clinic of Traditional and Natural Medicine of Baracoa; with the objective of evaluating their clinical evolution in the period from January 2000 to December 2009. The sample of 96 patients affected was evaluated. The variables are used: age, sex and number of received sessions. The information is obtained from the archive database, they are taken to an emptying sheet processed by computerized techniques, analyzed and captured in tables of frequency distribution, which allows to conclude that the disease has a predominance in women, in their first adult life period (20-40), thus demonstrating the effectiveness of the method in the majority of the patients under study, so its application is recommended.
