Preventive strategy for the genetic counseling of pregnant women with alpha-fetoprotein test with altered values

Abstract

Propose a preventive strategy for the genetic counseling of a pregnant woman with an altered alpha-fetoprotein test based on technical elements of the same: diagnosis, communication, risk estimation and support or foundation. An informative-educational document is prepared to be delivered to the patient in order to obtain a better understanding and analysis of the information provided about the risk or disorder and finally it is recommended to use this design as a guide in the management of this type of pregnant woman, As well as implementing a community intervention project in the municipality, which contributes to decrease the frequency of altered alphafetoprotein and its possible consequences.
