Abstract

A descriptive, cross - sectional study was carried out to determine the behavior of some clinical epidemiological factors of the disease, according to the Colloquia Hermanos Martinez Tamayo, Baracoa, Guantánamo, from January to December 2010-2011. The studied sample consisted of 73 women; the variables were studied: age, premalignant lesions, causes of non-attendance and health actions. As data collection technique, observation, interview and registration of cytodiagnostic cards were used; and the prevalence of high-grade premalignant lesions was determined, affecting more frequently women between 35-44 years of age. Patients with more than one year of absence predominated, related to ignorance and remoteness, field visits and educational talks were the most developed health actions.
