Abstract

A study is done at Guantanamo province about: geographical location, characteristics, risk assessment, epidemiological situation and measures to reduce disaster against cyclones, with the aim of developing a set of feasible measures for the trainning and reducing the impact on the occurrence of a great cyclone, as well as improve the current disaster plan. It is established some measures to implement before, during and after the occurrence of meteorological events regarding the actions of the health system in our province. Measures were applied for comprehensive care to the population and functions of medical specialties in terms of reducing the effects.
