Abstract

Pulmonary embolisms is a relatively common cardiovascular emergency, threatening-life .its diagnosis is difficult and can go unnoticed, and it has not specific clinical presentation. Frequently, it is atypical, or is overshadowed by coexisting diseases. This research focuses on the methods currently available and validated for diagnosis, prognosis and treatment evaluation. A review on the subject is done with the aim of identifying current trends more efficient and effective to face that condition.
