Abstract

A descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted at Guantánamo General Teaching Hospital in July 2015 in order to describe the behavior of the professional burnout syndrome. The universe was made up of 20 specialists in Gynecology. The instruments were applied: brief burnout questionnaire and sociodemographic variables. The studied variables were: age, sex, years of graduation and professional burnout syndrome. It was used the percentage calculation for the analysis of the data and the processing of the information collected was performed by the statistical package SSPS version 11.5 and represented through tables. The syndrome was described as very high, since 70% of the investigators, it was more evidenced in specialists who are between 40 and 44 years of age of the masculine sex and who have more than 15 years of graduates.
