A study was performed at medical Center of Genetics at Guantanamo in order to evaluate the program of prenatal diagnosis of congenital malformations, by quantifying the MSAFP, for that provincial records were reviewed and results measurements of MSAFP in the years of study, presented in the medical Center of Genetics at Guantanamo to determine the behaviour of the program. Program coverage of alpha fetal protein behaved 98.6 % positivity, rate was 7.8 %, the most frequent cause elevated alpha fetal protein was wrong with gestational age, the most frequent malformations were diagnosed by ultrasound NTDs followed by DPPA. There was good coverage of the program of prenatal diagnosis of congenital malformations quantification of alpha fetoprotein in the period of the study.
