Type IV periodontal frequency in secondary school students

Abstract

A study was carried out in Junior High School "Daniel Llossas Preval"Guantanamowith the aim of knowing the frequency of type IV periodontal in the anterior mandible, from February 2012 to June 2014. The universe consists of 835 students of this school, of which a sample of 258 students was taken. The variables were evaluated: age, sex, position of the oral gingival margin, inserts, and tooth alignment, type IV periodontal and periodontal recession. The type IV periodontal was presented in 91 students. In the apical position of the marginal gingival on the facial, prevailed female sex. In those who had not aligned teeth presented apical position of the oral gingival margin and high inserts. Periodontal recession predominated in type IV periodontal students.
