Antimicrobial therapeutic use in infectious diseases

Abstract

A literature review was performed in order to evaluate the use of antimicrobial therapy in infectious diseases. Antibiotic therapy, synthetic antimicrobial agents in clinical use, the methods used for the evaluation and selection of antibiotics, caution to keep in mind when using them, the categories of inappropriate use and its consequences, as well as increases of cost in health care ,the resistance to them and inappropriate use in hospital setting and in hospital practice.
