Abstract

The overall drug phenomenon is situated by wars, famine and extreme poverty, among the four major scourges of humanity at the beginning of this millennium. This health problem is approached from different angles like arts. In different historical periods and artistic movements, its proponents reflect, through their work or conduct, his vision for drug addiction. The aim of the study is to characterize the elements from a medical point of view are present in some of the works of painting, music, literature and authors who address the issue of drug addiction, in different historical stages of development of the humanity. It is concluded that the artistic manifestations are analyzed reflects the psychosocial phenomenon of addictions.
