Abstract

A descriptive, retrospective study was conducted in patients with acute myocardial infarction who were treated at the Cardiology Service of the General Teaching Hospital "Agostinho Neto", Guantánamo, in the period May 2013 to 2014, with the purpose of describing the relationship cardiovascular variables in the stay for acute myocardial infarction. The universe consisted of 150 patients, all patients admitted with this diagnosis. Some sociodemographic variables such as: age, sex, personal medical history, toxic habits, and stay were used, after cardiovascular variables were classified, blood pressure and heart rate according to its figures: normal, high and low. They took into account the relationship with the stay. They predominated patients 60 to 69 years old male. Arterial hypertension was the risk factor that had an impact; there is a relationship between blood pressure levels and stay on attack, not with the heart rate.
