Behavior of common risk factors in patients older than 15 years with atherosclerosis

Abstract

A descriptive study of cross section was performed with the aim of assessing the behavior of the factors most frequent risk of atherosclerosis in patients older than 15 years, belonging to the University Policlinic "Fermín Valdés Domínguez", Baracoa, Guantanamo in 2013. The study group consisted of 20 650 people and the sample was composed of 16,844 patients who met the inclusion criteria. The information was obtained from the individual medical histories, family and statistical records, which were embodied in a form of emptying. Age group 65 years and females. Hypertension and smoking were the most relevant risk factors. The association of three risk factors was evident, the time evolution of 6 to 10 years for hypertension and 1 to 6 years sedentary lifestyle. Conclusions to that effect are issued.
