Abstract

A study of the historical evolution that has been the specialty of psychiatry in the province of Guantanamo after the revolutionary triumph of 1959 was performed. Data were obtained from interviews with founders of the specialty in the province of Guantanamo and the reviewing of some documents. In the present work, students of 5th year medical career have a reference material for further study of the subject: Introduction of Psychiatry.
